Purpose and Scope

This policy discloses what information we gather about you when you visit any of our Web sites (all joomlang.com and sub domain sites) . It describes how we use that information and how you can control it. Our privacy policy addresses:

Information Joomla! Day Nigeria gathers and tracks

Joomla! Day Nigeria collects two kinds of information about users: 1) data that users volunteer by signing up to receive news and product information, entering contests, completing surveys, or buying directly from us; and 2) aggregated tracking data we collect when users interact with us.

Personal information

We use the personal information you provide voluntarily to send information you've requested and to fulfill orders. The specific use of your personal information varies, depending on how you contact us:

  • When you sign up online to receive Joomla! Day Nigeria newsletters, Joomla! Day Nigeria product and event news, and to participate in talkbacks on our sites you must provide your name, e-mail address, and a password. We never sell or rent your e-mail address or other personally identifiable information you provide us under these circumstances.
  • When you register for a Joomla! Day Nigeria conference, or sign up for a conference e-mail list, we will automatically send you e-mail announcements and updates about Joomla! Day Nigeria conferences. We send conference brochures to past conference attendees.
  • We do not share customer information with any other companies or organizations other than with third parties we retain to perform functions on our behalf, such as fulfilling orders, processing credit card payments, managing mailing lists, and delivering packages. These parties are restricted from using your information for any other purpose.
  • We will release personal information only when we believe that release is appropriate to comply with the law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Joomla! No, it stands for Frequently Asked and Anticipated Questions. Not only questions that have been asked, but that may be asked as demonstrated on similar sites and events.

Is this a commercial event?

No, it is an entirely without profit event. The event teams are just community members who have done something about putting on a Joomla! Day in the UK rather than just ask about it, whine that there is not or has not been one for the past three years, etc, etc...

Is the event split into business and community days?

No the whole event is for the Joomla! Community which involves businesses, not-for-profits, NGO's, academic groups, individuals, and any other flavour of Joomla! User.

How much does it cost?

The Joomla! Day Nigeria entry is free for all participant.

Do You accept donations?

Yes we do!

What does the money pay for?

The donated/sponsored money goes towards:

  • the event centre hire and facilities including food and beverages, wireless connection etc,
  • the travel and accommodation costs of the key speakers and presenters
  • the printing and publishing costs associated with the event
  • the travel and printing costs for the launch
  • the out of pocket expenses and costs incurred by the event team in putting the event together.
  • Insurance for the event.
  • additional equipment hire not included in the event centre package
  • anything else not handled directly or indirectly in any of the above or by sponsorship monies paid

What happens to the balance of any monies that are left over at the end of the event?

In the event that there is any balance of monies, these will be used towards facilitating future events in Nigeria, assistance with creation of Joomla! User Groups and contribution to Joomla! Projects
